It did not take England U23 international Jodie Taylor long to get off the mark after her late arrival due to exams at Oregon State University. The Birkenhead, England native netted three goals for the Ottawa FURY Women over the weekend and was today named W-League Player of the Week by the United Soccer Leagues. The second year FURY player notched one of the seven goals against Rochester last Saturday but her most valuable contribution was two second half goals which helped the FURY topple the previously unbeaten Toronto Lady Lynx 3-2 in Toronto. She has quickly formed a formidable striking partnership with Shay Powell (7 goals in 6 games) for the FURY. Taylor has rewritten the record books at Oregon State where she is the only OSU player ever to have earned All-Pacific-10 Conference first team honors four years running. She is the OSU career record holder in goals and points and the first OSU player to record over 100 points in a career. In 78 career appearances, Taylor recorded 47 goals, 19 assists and 113 points. This weekend, Taylor will be looking to add to her tally as the FURY are in Southern Ontario to play the London Gryphons on Saturday afternoon and the Hamilton Avalanche on Sunday afternoon
