One night removed from a 4-1 victory, the FURY found themselves on the losing end of that same score falling to the division-leading Cape Cod Crusaders. Despite the margin of defeat players and coaches are adamant that the score was not a reflection of the FURY's play rather the result of having to open in the latter stages of the second half to get back in the game. The Crusaders got off to the perfect start in the contest when Liam Maloney headed home a Joel Theissen corner in the 17th minute of play. The home side then had several opportunities to double their advantage before the interval as the Canadian opposition struggled to deal with the pace of wide midfielder Edens Chery.
University of New Mexico forward Wright came alive in the 71st minute as he slammed home the Crusaders second goal from the middle of the penalty box. The tall forward then notched his second goal as he put the finishing touches to a tremendous run and cross from Edens Chery and put the home side up 3-0.
The visiting Fury grabbed a late consolation from William Beauge but Matt Narode quickly restored the three goal advantage as he slammed one home from close range in stoppage time.
The FURY will now head home for a lengthy home stand of 5 games beginning against the Long Island Rough Riders.
